Born in the Ivory Coast, Mrs. Lydie Omesiete has always had a strong connection to music. She comes from a family of singers and musicians, so it was only natural that she would fall in love with music as well. She first discovered her talent for singing at the age of seven, when her father encouraged her to sing a solo at church.

Mrs. Omesiete received both a B.A. degree in Vocal Performance and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Music Education degree at Piedmont College, and she hopes to pursue a conducting doctoral degree in the near future. She has had the privilege of conducting both Piedmont College vocal ensembles during her stint as graduate assistant, and has enjoyed the exposure to many great choral works.

Most of her drama experience stems from acting in several NGT (North Georgia Theatre) and Piedmont College productions, playing roles such as Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5 ,  Sylvia in All Shook Up, and many others.

She is currently in her second year of teaching high school chorus and drama, and is passionate about helping young people discover their full potential in the arts.

Growing up as a preacher's daughter has fostered a deep love for church music. Mrs. Omesiete cherishes singing at various churches, hoping that others will find comfort and peace through worship music. Her album, What's Next?, a collection of 12 Don Gnecco songs, was released September 12th, 2016.

She is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association of Music Educators. She enjoys attending annual GMEA conferences in the pursuit of new and promising teaching/professional strategies to bring back to the classroom.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, Wilson Omesiete, who is currently in his last year of medical school at Georgia Medical College.
